Bank Books — Transaction Recognition Rules
Match a short phrase in the bank transaction and automatically assign its category. Only outgoing or incoming payments matching the selected direction qualify. Unrecognised and conflicting transactions still need review.

HMRC and director-payment safeguards are protected and remain unchanged. New or edited rules affect future imports; use Categorise recognised transactions in Bank Books to apply them to existing entries still marked Needs Review. Existing categories are never overwritten.
